Senior Hub
General Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 October 2026
These General Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the Senior Hub application, published by Benjamin Cohen Solal, auto-entrepreneur (sole trader).
1. Purpose and description of the service
Senior Hub is an application for coordinating everyday life, intended for seniors, family caregivers, family members and professional helpers. In particular, it allows:
- The management of appointments, tasks, checklists and everyday reminders
- The storage and sharing of documents and photos within the household
- Keeping a shared family logbook with mood, visitor notes and comments
- The management of emergency contacts and the address book
- The display of information on a dedicated tablet and the addition of seniors without an account
- Audio/video calls to the configured tablets
- Two-way synchronisation with Google Calendar or iCloud/CalDAV
- Two-way synchronisation of the household's documents with Google Drive
- The generation of summaries, trends and suggestions assisted by artificial intelligence
- Coordination and discussion between household members
- The definition and sharing out of caregiving roles between members (medical contact person, paperwork, finances, household running, etc.) with an informative mental-load indicator and AI observations on how balanced the sharing out is
The simplified interface intended for the person being helped takes two forms depending on their phone. On Android, SeniorHub replaces the home screen: the device starts on the large SeniorHub buttons. On iPhone, this role is played by the simplified access mode provided by Apple, a system feature that SeniorHub neither publishes nor controls; the application is added to it as the one the person uses every day. The consequences of this difference are described in §5.10.
2. Acceptance of the Terms
Use of Senior Hub implies full and complete acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the application.
3. Conditions of access and minimum age
- Use of Senior Hub is reserved for persons aged at least 16 years, in every country where the service is offered. This age is the one set by the GDPR (Article 8) and by Irish law.
- Registration requires a valid email address or a third-party account (Google, Apple).
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
- The information provided must be accurate and kept up to date.
4. Use of the service
- You undertake to use Senior Hub in accordance with its purpose and with the laws in force.
- It is forbidden to use the service for unlawful or unauthorised purposes.
- The content you post (notes, documents, photos, journal entries) remains your responsibility.
- Senior Hub is an everyday organisation tool. You undertake not to enter medical information in it: diagnoses, prescriptions, dosages, test results.
5. Important warnings
5.1 Nature of the service
Senior Hub is an everyday organisation tool. It does not constitute a medical device, a health-tracking tool or prescription-support software. The reminders offered are simple memory aids and do not replace any professional advice.
5.2 Emergency warning
The emergency contacts and alert feature does not replace the emergency services (15 / SAMU, 18 / Fire brigade, 112 / European emergency number). In a life-threatening emergency, call the emergency services immediately.
5.3 Artificial intelligence
Senior Hub uses an artificial intelligence service (Anthropic) to generate summaries, trends and suggestions from the entries in the shared family logbook, as well as observations on how caregiving roles are shared out within the household. This content is provided for information purposes and may contain inaccuracies. It does not under any circumstances constitute professional advice (medical, legal, financial, social). The content sent to the AI service is limited to the data strictly necessary for the feature that has been enabled.
5.6 Caregiving roles and mental-load indicator
The sharing out of caregiving roles and the mental-load indicator (displayed as repeated 🧠) are family organisation tools. The mental-load values, the default roles suggested and the associated AI observations are purely indicative and informative. They constitute neither a medical assessment, nor a social assessment, nor a professional appraisal of the caregiving situation. How roles are shared out is for household members to decide freely.
5.5 Video calls, calendar synchronisation and Drive synchronisation
Audio/video calls depend on network availability, on the camera and microphone permissions granted by the devices, and on the configuration of the tablets. Calendar synchronisation depends on the third-party services connected by the user (Google Calendar, iCloud/CalDAV or an ICS link) and may be interrupted if access is revoked, if the provider has an error or if a password is changed.
Google Drive synchronisation makes it possible to synchronise the household's documents with a Google Drive folder chosen by the household administrator. Files added in SeniorHub appear in Drive and vice versa. This synchronisation depends on the availability of the Google Drive API and may be interrupted if OAuth access is revoked or if the provider has an error. The administrator may disconnect the synchronisation at any time; the documents remain in both services.
5.4 Consent of the senior
The person being helped gives their explicit agreement to be accompanied via Senior Hub from their own device, with their own account, when they first start the companion application they use — SeniorHub Assistance on Android, the SeniorHub simplified home screen on iPhone, SeniorHub Assistance not being distributed on iPhone. This consent is separate from the acceptance of these Terms by the caregiver. Until it is given, remote assistance remains blocked. The person being helped may withdraw it themselves at any time, from the “Who can see my phone” screen of that same application, without having to go through their caregiver.
Installation on another person's device. The SeniorHub companion applications are intended to be installed on the devices of the person being helped. By carrying out this installation, you declare that you are acting with that person's agreement and in their presence. The same applies to the action that configures the simplified access mode of an iPhone : it is this action that lastingly restricts use of the phone, so it requires the agreement of its holder and their presence, and it falls under §5.10. Consent to being accompanied is requested from the person being helped themselves, on their own device, when they first start it: it cannot be given on their behalf. Remote control and the reporting of the technical status of their device — battery, network, storage — are subject to separate agreements, which they give and may withdraw independently of each other. The make and model of the device are not part of them: they are used to recognise which phone it is in the household's list of devices, fall under the performance of the contract, and are described in §2 of the privacy policy.
Prohibited use. SeniorHub may under no circumstances be used to watch over a person without their knowledge or against their will, nor to restrict the use of their phone against their will — including by means of the system's simplified access mode. Any use of this kind constitutes a serious breach of these Terms and leads to the immediate closure of the account, without prejudice to any proceedings the person concerned would be entitled to bring.
Removing an item from their screen. The person being helped may, at any time and without having to give reasons, ask for any item on their home screen that they do not wish to see there to be removed: a shortcut to a website (§5.9), a contact, an application or the wallpaper. This request is addressed to the members of their household, who have the means to act on it: removal is carried out from the home screen settings, which are protected by a code, or remotely from the caregivers application or the website when the configuration is shared. Household members undertake to carry out this removal as soon as they are asked to. The home screen offers the person being helped no setting that they can operate on their own: this is a design choice, intended to guarantee them a stable screen that no accidental press can change, and it in no way reduces the effect of their refusal.
Persons subject to a protective measure. If the person being helped is subject to a legal protective measure (sauvegarde de justice, curatelle, tutelle, or habilitation familiale, articles 494-1 et seq. of the French Civil Code) or is not able to express an informed choice, the installation must be decided together with the person responsible for their protection. Their agreement must be sought and their refusal respected, whatever their legal situation: a protective measure does not deprive the person of the right to refuse (articles 458 and 459 of the French Civil Code).
5.7 Location-based reminders (household places)
The optional « On-the-spot reminders » feature uses the geolocation of your phone in the background to remind you of tasks to be carried out near a household place. It requires your consent and the « Always » location permission, and can be turned off at any time. These reminders are provided on a « best-effort » basis: whether they are triggered depends on the operating system, the permissions granted, the accuracy of the location and the battery level. They are not guaranteed and must not be used for critical or safety-related tasks.
5.8 Editorial content (guides for caregivers)
The Senior Hub website publishes guides and articles intended for family caregivers. This content is provided purely for information purposes and has no contractual value. It constitutes neither medical advice, nor legal advice, nor a guarantee of obtaining any assistance, allowance or entitlement whatsoever. The information is up to date as of the date shown on each page and may become outdated if the regulations, rates or schemes mentioned change (for example an increase in the APA). It is up to each reader to check this information with the competent bodies before making any decision.
5.9 Shortcuts to websites
The simplified home screen of the person being helped may include tiles that open a website address chosen by a household member: an internet radio station, a music playlist, the website of an organisation. The following provisions apply to these shortcuts.
- We do not publish these websites and do not control them. SeniorHub does not publish, control, check or moderate the websites concerned. The addresses are chosen and entered by household members, under their own responsibility. The presence of a shortcut on the screen of a person being helped does not amount to a recommendation, a check or a guarantee on our part regarding the designated website, its content or its availability.
- The website visited has its own rules. The website opens in the phone's browser. The terms of use and privacy policy of the website visited apply there, to the exclusion of these Terms: the relationship formed on that occasion is between the user and that website.
- We play no part in any transaction carried out on these websites, in particular banking, purchases or administrative procedures. SeniorHub is not a party to any of these transactions; it does not transmit, pre-fill or keep any username, password, security code or bank details that may be entered there, and has no access to them.
- Whoever adds a shortcut is answerable for its destination. The household member who adds a shortcut guarantees that it points to the website it claims to designate. Knowingly adding a misleading shortcut — a label or image making the person being helped believe that they are opening a website they are not opening, in particular that of a bank, an insurer or a public authority — constitutes a serious breach of these Terms, leading to the immediate closure of the account, regardless of any criminal and civil proceedings incurred.
- Reporting and removal. Any shortcut reported as misleading is removed as soon as we become aware of it. A report may be sent to contact@seniorhub.fr; it is dealt with without delay, and the person being helped may, for their part, ask the members of their household at any time to remove it, which they undertake to do (§5.4).
These provisions allocate responsibility between household members, the publishers of the websites visited and the publisher of the service. They do not release SeniorHub from any of the obligations incumbent on it in respect of its own service and do not limit any of the rights that the law grants to consumers.
5.10 Simplified access mode provided by the system
On iPhone, the simplified interface relies on anApple feature — the system's simplified access —which SeniorHub neither publishes nor controls. Its activation, operation and deactivation are a matter for Apple and for the settings of the device.
SeniorHub does not hold the exit code for this mode and can under no circumstances unlock a device. This code is chosen and kept by the person who configures the phone. Neither our support team nor any remote action can bypass it: a device whose code has been lost can only be unlocked through Apple's procedures.
The device remains the property of its holder, who may at any time ask for this mode to be turned off — without having to give reasons, and without this refusal being held against them. Household members undertake to act on it, on the same terms as in §5.4.
5.11 Application updates
In accordance with articles L224-25-24 to L224-25-26 of the French Consumer Code, we provide you, throughout your subscription, with the updates necessary to keep the Senior Hub applications compliant and secure. These updates are distributed exclusively through the app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play Store); we offer no other distribution channel.
A household member may trigger the installation of an update on the device of the person being helped. For the duration of this installation, that device temporarily becomes unusable.
If updates are not installed within a reasonable time after being made available, we cannot be held liable for any resulting lack of conformity or security defects.
6. Personal data and privacy
The processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access to your personal data
- Right to rectification of your data
- Right to erasure (account deletion)
- Right to portability of your data (JSON export)
- Right to object to and to restrict processing
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time
To exercise these rights, use the features provided in the application (Settings > Privacy) or contact us at privacy@seniorhub.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or with the authority of the country where you live: the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (§11a of the Privacy Policy).
6a. Communications from SeniorHub
SeniorHub may send you, at the email address associated with your account:
- messages necessary for the operation of the service (invitations, alerts, security, subscription), which you cannot opt out of for as long as your account is active;
- its newsletter, only if you have subscribed to it;
- individual messages from the publisher intended to help you use the service and to gather your opinion.
These messages contain no commercial offer. You may ask to stop receiving messages in the third category at any time, simply by replying to the message or by writing to privacy@seniorhub.fr; this has no effect whatsoever on your use of the service.
7. Processors and third-party services
To provide the service, Senior Hub uses the following processors:
- Railway (US company, hosting in the European Union — Amsterdam) — Hosting of the application and the database.
- Google Cloud Storage (EU — Paris) — Secure storage of documents, voice messages and photos.
- Firebase Crashlytics (US) — Monitoring of technical errors, subject to your consent.
- Anthropic (US) — Artificial intelligence service for the weekly summaries of the shared family logbook and the text analysis of voice message transcriptions (memory aid, non-medical), subject to the household enabling the feature.
- Groq (US) — Audio transcription of voice messages sent by seniors (Whisper service). The audio is sent to Groq exclusively for transcription, subject to your prior consent.
- RevenueCat — Management of in-app subscriptions.
- Resend — Sending of transactional emails (invitations, alerts), of the newsletter and of personal messages from the publisher.
- LiveKit — Real-time audio and video calls.
- Google Calendar API — Synchronisation of the calendars connected by the user.
- Google Drive API (US) — Two-way synchronisation of the household's documents with a Google Drive folder.
- OVH (FR) — Sending of text messages (invitations, notifications).
- Expo — Sending of push notifications.
8. Subscriptions and billing
Senior Hub offers several subscription plans (Présence, free; Tribu; Sérénité). Paid subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store platforms. The terms for billing, renewal and cancellation are those of the respective platforms.
- The applicable price is the one displayed by the platform (Apple App Store or Google Play) at the time of purchase, in the currency of your country, all taxes included.
- Renewal is automatic unless cancelled before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation is carried out from the settings of your Apple or Google account, in accordance with the platform's terms.
- The purchase of a subscription is concluded with the platform (Apple App Store or Google Play). It is that platform's rules on the right of withdrawal and refunds that apply, and it is to that platform that a refund request must be addressed, without prejudice to the rights you hold under the applicable law.
8a. Changes to the plans and their content
The features and limits associated with each plan are described in the application at the time of subscription and on seniorhub.fr. We may change them during your subscription, for one of the following reasons: to adapt the service to a technical or regulatory change, to replace or change a third-party service on which we depend, or to maintain the economic balance of the service.
Such a change never results in any additional cost for you during the current period. If it restricts what was included in your plan, we inform you by email and in the application at least 30 days before it comes into effect, specifying the date and exactly what changes. If this change adversely affects your use of the service, you may terminate free of charge within 30 days of being informed or of its coming into effect, whichever is later; we will then refund you, pro rata, the unused part of the paid period. This option does not apply to changes whose impact is minor.
What a change of plan changes. If your household moves to a lower plan, no data is deleted and everything you have created remains viewable and editable; you simply can no longer create new items beyond the limits of the new plan. There is one exception: the household activity log, of which the application only displays the depth provided for by your plan. Older events are not erased — they remain stored and you can obtain them at any time via Settings > Privacy > Export my data.
8b. Complimentary periods
Senior Hub may, on its sole initiative, grant a household a paid plan free of charge for a fixed period (a « complimentary period »). This period is a gesture by the publisher: it does not result from any purchase, gives rise to no payment and requires no action on your part.
- No payment, no commitment. No sum is requested from you, either during the complimentary period or at its end. No means of payment is recorded and no subscription is taken out in your name with Apple or Google: you therefore have nothing to cancel.
- Duration and end date. The complimentary plan and its end date are displayed in the application, on your plan screen. You are informed of the approach of that date at least 7 days beforehand, in the application and by email.
- No renewal, no automatic conversion. A complimentary period is not a free trial: it never automatically turns into a paid subscription and does not renew by itself.
- What happens at the end. On the date indicated, your household returns to the Free plan and the limits of that plan apply again, in particular the period of history displayed and the storage space. Your data is not deleted: your documents, photos, appointments and logbook entries remain recorded. Items that exceed the limits of the Free plan remain viewable but can no longer be added to, and become fully accessible again if you then subscribe to a paid plan.
- No acquired right. A complimentary period creates no right to its renewal, to its extension, to another complimentary period, or to the continuation of the plan concerned. It is strictly personal to the beneficiary household and may not be transferred, exchanged or converted into a sum of money or a credit.
- Early revocation. Senior Hub ends a complimentary period before its end date only in the event of abusive or fraudulent use of the service, of a breach of these Terms, or of the closure of the account or household. In that case, you are informed and the reason is given to you. Apart from these cases, the complimentary period runs until its end.
- No consideration. A complimentary period is never conditional on posting a review, giving a testimonial, making a referral or any other consideration on your part.
9. Intellectual property
The Senior Hub application, its source code, its design and its content are protected by intellectual property law. Any unauthorised reproduction is prohibited.
10. Limitation of liability
Senior Hub is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it will be free of interruptions or errors. Senior Hub is an everyday organisation tool and in no way replaces professional advice.
The publisher cannot be held liable in the event of a forgotten appointment, a missed reminder, or any consequence linked to the use or non-use of the application.
11. Force majeure
The publisher cannot be held liable for failure to perform, or delay in performing, its obligations in the event of force majeure, as defined by article 1218 of the French Civil Code (natural disasters, outages, cyberattacks, government decisions, etc.).
12. Changes to the Terms
These Terms may be amended at any time. In the event of a substantial change, users will be informed via the application at least 30 days before the new Terms come into effect. Continued use of the application after that date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the settings of the application. Deletion results in the permanent erasure of all your personal data in accordance with the GDPR. If you have a paid subscription, remember to cancel it beforehand from your Apple or Google account. If your access results from a complimentary period (article 8b), you have no subscription to cancel.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the protective rules you enjoy as a consumer, in particular the option of bringing a case before the court of your place of residence.
15. Consumer mediation
In accordance with article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge with a view to the amicable resolution of a dispute between you and us. Mediation is free of charge for you.
The mediator may only be approached if you have first tried to resolve the dispute directly with us by means of a written complaint that has not received a satisfactory answer, and within one year of that complaint. To do so, write to us at contact@seniorhub.fr.
Our mediator is:
